Arrival & Departure Information
Check-in begins at 9:00am and closes at 6:00pm.
Upon arrival, students must check in with the nurse in the Infirmary located in the Main House and then proceed to the Office for their housing assignments and class schedule information.
The cafeteria will be open for dinner on Saturday evening. All students are required to attend the orientation meeting in the Concert Hall on Sunday, June 26, at 7:30pm. Classes begin on Monday.
The school van will pick up students who travel alone at the local bus, train, or ferry terminal. Please call or email the admissions office before June 1st with your travel plans if you would like to be placed on our van pickup schedule. We regret the school van is unable to meet students at airports or other locations. Students needing transportation on other days will be charged a fee for school van service.
Please note: Arrivals after opening day and/or early departures may jeopardize your chamber music placement and are subject to the Director’s approval.

Approximate driving times to Meadowmount:
Students arriving by bus:
The Adirondack Trailways bus stops in Keene Valley, NY 20 miles from Meadowmount. Call 1-800-858-8555 for bus schedules. This is the only bus stop that the Meadowmount shuttle will service.
Students arriving by train:
Due to COVID-19, there is currently no train service to the Adirondacks. Check Amtrak for updates.
The Amtrak train offers service between New York City and Montreal and stops at the Westport, NY train station (10 miles from Meadowmount). Call 1-800-USA-RAIL or visit Amtrak.com for schedules.
This train runs once a day and departs Penn Station at 8:15am. Students making a travel connection to this train may need to spend the night in NYC due to its early departure. (For students arriving by air, it is best to book a flight directly to Burlington, VT.)
Students arriving by air:
Students arriving by air must fly into the Burlington, Vermont Airport (BTV). Upon arrival, students take a taxicab to the Charlotte, VT ferry landing, approximately 35 minutes and a $65.00 fare, then board the ferry to cross Lake Champlain to Essex, NY. Ferries (www.ferries.com) depart every half hour. Crossing time is 20 minutes and the fare is $5.00. Students will be met by a Meadowmount School van at the Essex, NY ferry landing.
On your return trip home, you must schedule your departing flight after 9:00am. The first ferry to Vermont does not allow enough time to arrive at the airport for an earlier flight.
