Sally G. Thomas Fellowship

Sally Thomas was honored at Meadowmount School of Music’s 70th Season Benefit Concert on August 4, 2013. A Fellowship in her name was established to commemorate her years as both a student and faculty member. Sally’s first summer at Meadowmount was 1949 and, in her 64 years with us, she has taught generations of highly successful professionals. Following the concert, Director Eric Larsen announced the creation of the Fellowship to a full house:

“Meadowmount would like to formally recognize Sally’s contribution to the success of this school by creating a scholarship in her honor. From this moment on, as long as there is a Meadowmount School of Music, there will be a Sally G. Thomas Fellowship awarded to an outstanding violin student poised for a significant career. Sally, thank you for all you have done for us!”

Alumnus James Ehnes, who performed in the premiere of Kenneth Frazelle’s Triple Concerto on campus, spoke eloquently about his years as Sally’s student at both Meadowmount and Juilliard. “Whatever I do on stage is due to her and I know I’m not alone. There are thousands of us around the world who owe so much to Miss Thomas.”
