Robyn Avalon

Robyn Avalon is the Director of three Alexander Technique Teacher Training Programs: Alexander Alliance Southwest/Alaska/Italia; and is on the faculty of Alliance schools in Germany, Japan, and Philadelphia.

Having playfully studied Alexander’s principles for nearly 30 years, she has had the opportunity to work with professional performing artists, Olympic athletes and equestrians, fitness professionals, artisans and fine artists, martial artists, scientists and engineers, and medical professionals worldwide.

She offers introductory thru post-graduate workshops throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan, as well as maintaining a private practice in Santa Fe, NM.

Robyn is an Alexander Alliance graduate, with additional training at many of the Alexander schools in the USA. She has had the privilege of learning from 3 first generation teachers – Richard Gummere, Jr., Elisabeth Walker, and Marjorie Barstow for the last decades of her life. She especially enjoys collaborating with other Alexander teachers and trainers worldwide to bring this extraordinary work to the world.

Robyn is also the creator of LIVING IN A BODY™: An Owner’s Guide to Using Your Body Naturally. This 20 hour certification course is designed to help students and teachers of all disciplines to experience easy and natural use of their bodies in every activity. Robyn is certified in Cranial Sacral Therapy and the Personal Totem Pole Process®, a Deep Imagery© orientated personal growth process. She has studied many allied movements arts/therapies including Feldenkrais, Body-Mind Centering, Pilates, Physio-Synthesis, Somatics, Holotropic Breathwork, Experiential Anatomy, Tai Chi and all forms of Dance.
