Sally Thomas received her B.S.and M.S. degree at the Juilliard School where she studied with Ivan Galamian. In addition, she studied chamber music with Josef Gingold, Felix Galimir, and the Juilliard String Quartet. Ms. Thomas won the National Federation of Music Club's Northern Lights award and several other competitions.
She has appeared as soloist with orchestras and in recital throughout the U.S. and Canada. She collaborated with Ivan Galamian in the editing of numerous major works for violin in addition to having authored several others. Her biography appears in "Outstanding Young Women of America."
She is Vice-President of the Society for Strings, Inc. and is on the faculties of the Mannes College of Music and the Juilliard School. Many of her pupils have been top prize-winners in International Competitions including the Tchaikowsky, Queen Elizabeth, Munich, Indianapolis and Montreal.
